Hello, I am currently looking for the best possible configuration. Let me explain, I currently have a desktop PC with two screens and I would like to be able to easily connect my work laptop to it as well as my Steam deck. So I had the idea of using the Steam deck dock to do this, however I still have some questions.

  • Do you think there is a better setup possible?
  • Can the dock act as a USB hub when connected to the desktop PC ? he hasn’t seen usb-c port so only usb-a to steam deck.
  • Does my setup work ?

I’ll give you a link to another Reddit post which has exactly the same setup as me but didn’t have an answer to my questions.

Thanks for answer !

Quick question, what is the point of having your steamdeck plugged in if your desktop is?

There’s also software solutions for this, you run them over your network from your main machine ;-) (latency in local network is neglible - for best results use LAN instead of WLAN tho)
