Top: viewfinder screenshot, bottom: photo taken. Coming from an XR the post processing is hot garbage. Lots of oversharpening, contrast boost and highlight suppression going on.

They know that deep frying the images like this sells more phones. Just sad that it isn’t an option that can be toggled off.
Shoot RAW and post process the photo yourself if you hate this. Unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about it.
