Looking into picking up a laptop under $1000 I’ve never owned a dell, and have really only used Lenovos and my desktop rig. I’d be using it for School, reading/video consumption, slight video editing (nothing big or 4K; just making countdown timers and bumper videos for work) aswell as tuning my car
Man I read this as pentium silver for $700
It’s an okay computer with a discount that brings it to the price of what it is actually worth on MRSP Q4-2023, probably should be priced at $600 realistically, nothing special or fancy about it.
Asus Z13 has much nicer screen and battery life than the Dell.
ThinkPad Z13 has better keyboard and build quality, and better support than Asus and Dell combined with Basic and Premier Onsite.
If you’re spending almost $1K on a laptop, get something with flavor.
The Inspiron is not even an upper class Latitude, so it’ll have worst support from Dell and the keyboard on that thing sucks hard.
If you want to do any true video editing, even light, I would suggest getting at least an RTX 2050 or something with a fairly good dedicated GPU. I don’t have all the specs pulled up, but these are usually more for light work, web browsing, and basic Microsoft office tasks. You can definitely find something new with a RTX 2050 or RTX 3050 Ti, for that price, if not an RTX 3060
