just like the title implies, could we get a phone capable of folding horizontally or diagonally at will ? Like you Doble the screen size In any direction you want, and then if you want it to be even bigger Doble unfold it and make it tablet size, is it possible? I ,Samsung flip phone 3 is already accessible and Samsung was brave enought to be the first to launch a foldable phone despite its early failures, so could we see a Samsung FLIP X FOLD in upcoming years? Even if it’s a 3k+ dollars phone?
Maybe you could build a square that could fold into a smaller square in 2 folds. Have hinges at each of the 4 creases. That would be a wildly thick phone at max fold though. We may need to wait for battery tech to get thinner before we try.
