I’m talking barebones. Tetris. Picross-like. Something that requires very little thought and is addictive.
For background, the reason I’m asking is because I recently read that researchers found that participants in a study on traumatic events saw that people who played tetris during their recovery had less traumatic response/activation over time? I’m currently going through a pretty traumatic time in life and am just looking for games that activate my lizard brain to forget about the hard times for a little while. Thanks in advance.
I’ve heard the same thing about Tetris - personally, Minesweeper has always been that game for me. It’s algorithmic but fairly basic, and improving your times is rewarding.
Dorfromantik is super basic and relaxing.
FTR, I think part of “the Tetris effect” is that it’s nostalgic. Are there games from your childhood that you could play? Pokémon? Arcade classics like Crazy Taxi? Crossy Road?
Dorfromantik is so good in this regard, easily the most relaxing game I’ve ever tried.
Just place one hex tile at a time, building out a romantic countryside. No time pressure, no high stakes tactics. All good vibes and pretty sceneries.
I’ve always felt the urge to min-maxing/optimize with the various tiles bonuses and therefore didn’t really liked it :/
This is where I fall under too; it’s pretty satisfying seeing that “Perfect!” bonus after waiting 30 tiles for the right one. Playing like that doesn’t really take away from the chill vibes for me though.
Yes this indeed. I got my wife hooked on it and she played the fuck out of it on her deck.
was looking into ity for me it was to relaxed. But i will maybe show it to my gf, could get her hooked like on stardew valley :)
