Steam deck is a fantastic bit of kit do doubt about it. It’s totally awesome but I felt like I had to sell up as I just wasn’t using it as one should.

For context I’ve always been a console player my whole life and have never tried pc gaming until I got a deck. The first few weeks grabbed my curiosity being able to adjust settings and mess around with what ever I wanted.

But I also had a ps5 and most games especially newer ones just run and play better on there so I found myself just not using the deck. I also thought the deck was too bulky to really be comfortable taking it out with the battery being drained super fast and using it as a portable should be used.

I sold it and bought a switch lite which you can literally fit in your pocket it’s very portable and with games not using much power on there the battery generally stays functioning for about 3-4 hours on average.

the deck is bigger because it has more control options, without trackpads (which are the reason why I have a deck) it could be much, much smaller, but what would be the point, ps-vita was a lot of time ago and I think we may move on and introduce better controls.
