I had a very bad experince in the first half hour of trying to order an OLED model. Finally was able to get a normal 1TB during my lunch break so around 2pm PST (4 hours in). At that point it was very easy to get one. Limited looked like out of stock. I checked the page again on my way home around 6pm and the limited ones were available. I cancelled the normal one and got the limited one. And about 2 days in the limited edition is still available with the shortest lead times. It’s great that many people can get it. But, if it’s this widely available they should have made it like an alternate colorway and not make it limited to North America. What is the point at this stage?

I’m not sure what you mean by “what is the point at this stage?” Did people need to feel extra super special because they snagged one in the first few minutes?

Valve never said what they meant by limited. Would it be limited to 100 units? 1 million units? Limited to sales in the first 30 seconds? In the first 2 weeks?

It was everyone’s assumption that they would sell out within minutes. Who cares if they didn’t? All that means is that more people who want one can get one. Why is that a bad thing?

Yeah, I agree to all of these points. I guess my explanation should have been more specific. They clearly have the production volume - why not make it available worldwide? I’m more so questioning the the way they made this “limited”.
