I have no clue what to do. It’s stuck on the steam deck logo for hours and then when it finishes a mouse appears and it’s controls are inverted.

It’s not stuck, it’s just still loading.
For whatever reason the SteamOS image is just incredibly slow over USB.
People have better luck flashing it onto an SD card and then loading it that way.
Weird I used a usb and it took less than 20 minutes. But this was back in January so……
