Whenever people send models back into Valve for RMAs that require a replacement unit, they’ve been refurbished, put through QC, and there’s enough to warrant making a batch available online. In an ideal world, there would never be another refurb ever, because that would mean every Deck that rolls off the line is perfect and never has issues.
