So i finally done it. I undervolted everything by -50 and everything seems stable except this weird behaviour i didn’t expect and can’t explain
I use Rise of the Tomb Raider for testing, before undervoltinf i used to get 44-50 fps on the settings i use with something like 73 celsius on gpu and 71 on cpu
Now after undervolting i somehow get 56-stable60 fps but i can see that when gpu on normal settings was bouncing between 1350mhz to 1600mhz, now it likes to ait a lot at 1600, with occasional dips into 1500’s ans 1450’s or so
New temps speak even louder that the gpu works harder as now it goes up to 79 celsius, the cpu around the same
Weird behaviour right? I will mention that before undervolting i tried getting smokeless on boot menu for overclocming but failed as the new bios didn’t allow the backgate i used in a youtube video
I typed in console mkdir BIOS cd BIOS Sudo usr share…jupiter bios updaterh2offt bios backup Wget https://gitlab.com/evlaV/jupiter-PKGBUILD/-/raw/master/bin/jupiter-bios-unlock chmod jupiter bios unlock sudo jupiter bios unlock
As you know those aren’t all exact lines as i typed but it helps give you the idea, a backup and that bios unlocker
If me installing that bios unlocker didn’t do this then it must be the undervolting… i just knew it just reduces temps by lowering how much current it gets through it but i guess it could give this weird thing where gpu works harder than before and draws more power + higher temp
Just waiting for some oppinions and confirmation if that’s the case or something else is at play
Remember there’s also a silicon lottery
