So I currently have a 13” 2011 MacBook Pro, bought new and it’s great. However it’s at the end of its life, no longer update, apps won’t work etc etc. so looking for a replacement, and just about anything new would be a major upgrade. I want more screen space so 15 or 16”, if I get the air I’ll take 16GB Ram and 1tb and 16” 18GB and 1tb. Both with base cores. I don’t do any video editing but do like to play the odd game, watch some movies and of course internet stuff. My old one has lasted a long time so trying to think forward and make sure I have something that will be good down the road. Just not sure if the air or the pro would be best. If anyone has relatable info to help like you own a MacBook Air 15” or 16” m3 pro let me know your thoughts. What you would change etc.

    Go with the Air 15-inch.

The M3 are for people running a small business for running heavy duty calculations/video edits (30 8k video rendered per day).

Performance-wise the Air sounds perfectly suited to your needs, but at that price point it might make more sense to go for a refurbished 16” M2 Pro. You’ll still get all the power of the Air’s M2, but with more cores, better speakers, better display, more connectivity, etc.

Get the M2 15” Air, it’s a pretty great device for all your needs. I got the 15” with 16/512 wish I could take the 16/1TB would’ve been perfect.
