I just bought a 512gb steam deck for $300 off eBay (I’m guessing people were selling to upgrade to the OLED). It comes in 2 days and I’m wondering if I will be able to play Halo 3 (via Master Chief Collection) and Call of duty modern warfare on it without any issues. I’ve read about people getting banned due to anti cheat incompatibilities and I’m wondering if anyone has had any success with multiplayer flrst person shooter gaming on the deck? I already have a PS5, OLED switch, and Xbox series s so I was hoping to primarily use this for multiplayer gaming in the bed which ironically are the main complaints I’ve read. Any positive stories?

ignore the windows fanatics. what they forget to mention is often when there’s an update it breaks the whole system.

    apex is fine

    borderlands 2 and 3 fine

    deep rock galactic fine

    halo games all work fine

    overwatch fine

    doom games multiplayer fine

you can use moonlight/sunshine to stream from your pc to deck flawlessly if your pc can run the game, so this completely bypasses any multiplayers that you cant do.

problem games or just dont work

destiny 2. :( (still can stream)

Fortnite (BUT if you have a playstation, can stream it using chiaki4deck or chiaki

even games like dead by daylight or fall guys that didn’t use to work now work fine.

and if you have a PC that can already run these games, you can always stream it (use sunshine, remote playing through steam itself is garbage)
