So I have games spread out across several launchers and, wanting to play them on the SD I opted for Nonsteamlauchers from Github due to it installing them all for you. Its worked fine for Amazon and GOG Galaxy However Ive read the EGS games can be fiddly and Heroic is better suited? The only game from EGS Ive tried for now is Kingdom Hearts which is tricky regardless but are other games like this?

As a side note I’ll add that I like to add these games as non-steam games to avoid going through the various lauchers each time. Is this a bad idea?

All the best 😉

the epic store on steam deck is all around a bad idea. any games like fortnite or fall guys are completely fucked because of easy anticheat, slime rancher and maybe a couple other games will work but egs on linux is not well umm good.

I am using EGS like that without any problems (running Skyrim, GTA V, Fallout 3, Dishonored 2 and Horizon Chase Turbo). Easiest way of adding games to steam is by using BoilR (just click “Find games” in Non-steam-launchers window, it’ll download and run latest version of BoilR), it should find EGS games without any additional setup. For games which require launching through EGS you would have to tick option to force launching particular games through launcher in BoilR settings (you do that for each game separately). BoilR can also automatically download arts for games, but you need to sign up to steamgriddb.com and generate API key (link for generating key can be found in Settings section in BoilR)

Hey brother thanks for using my script, as a side note as another person said… if you click “find games” it will open up boilr for you. Inside the settings of BoilR you need to click the box next to your new game that you’re going to add to steam in order for “Epic Games” to open up with your game in the background. This is good for cloud saves as well as online play. Anti-cheat games don’t work on steamOS no matter what unless the developer of those games have made it so. Extra Tip: if you want to find artwork for GOG using Boilr, use the Mini Galaxy option instead inside the boilr settings. Then in the text field find the GOG galaxy folder where your games are and put in in there. That’s how I do mine.
