Just want to put it out there, people should be careful buying PC parts on amazon during the time leading up to Black Friday. In the past three to four days I’ve seen three different types on scams on AMD CPUs and GPUs. Always check to see the seller. See who’s selling and who’s shipping. Check the seller history and make sure the store front wasn’t just created recently. Good Luck finding those DEALS.
Man, just when I was going to drop $500 for an RX7800xt, I saw this post. Now I’m scared, although it says it’s from the powercolor store.
Portable SSDs are/were listed on Amazon UK recently, 11Tb for about 60 quid? Yeah right, even if you could get 11Tb disks it wouldn’t be that cheap
These were even Sponsored links from Amazon, so they’re well aware that scammers are selling on there
Yeah those should be flagged at scams automatically, way out of curve on price per TB. Yet sponsored dollars keep them around for the scammer whack a mole.
In my country (slovenia), we are getting warmings daily from our police and banks to be wary of such scams, we also have a big problem with new online “stores” popping up and offering amazing deals, but their only purpose is to get people’s money, then dip. Sad world we live in.

Bought a 4070ti about 3weeks ago I usually look for the store it’s coming from it was from Asus store -Asus tuf gaming 4070yi oc edition and have had no trouble and never had any other trouble from anything I’ve ordered I either always use the company sellin it or straight from Amazon store no probs

There was a fairly widespread one earlier in the year, where people buying CPUs and GPUs from Amazon were given a $1 iphone lens cover instead. I got pinched on it as well - ordered a 7800x3D and got the lens, and it took me almost six weeks to get a refund out of Amazon. The irritating thing is that it wasn’t any sort of crazy deal, it was just MSRP and what was coming up when searching for it on Amazon.
Their seller reviews were absolutely crammed with people talking about the same issue with them, and one enterprising Redditor even managed to deduce from photos of the shipping labels that they were all coming from the same Amazon distribution warehouse in the US. (Their Amazon store is now gone.)
Moral of the story is to ONLY buy bigger ticket items if its shipped from AND sold by Amazon, or if its sold by an “official” brand like AMD etc. And of course, if a deal seems too good to be true - it usually is.

Nope, reviews were all fine. Even the seller reviews at the time were fine. It was the seller that Amazon was shoving up when searching for the processor. Two weeks later, yes - the seller was crammed with negative reviews, including mine.
One wonders if a legit seller’s account gets hacked and then the scammers take it over just long enough to make a quick buck
Someone in the warehouse still has to put the lenses in a box though, even though the order says CPU or GPU…
Always remember to use price tracker app before purchasing and get it only from a reputed seller and ALWAYS take a video of the unboxing.
I swear common sense is truly a talent at this point
I don’t understand these things. Why not buy at a respected, retailer and be absolute sure your getting what you pay for instead of these websites hammering on being the cheapest of the cheapest?
Remember that Amazon mixes inventory so even if you buy directly from Amazon there is a chance it will be a counterfeit not what you ordered.
I would suggest unboxing video’s just in-case there are any issues.
