I had no problems with beamng after its fall update. There is a disclaimer in the display settings that deck support is still expeirimental, but playing vanilla, no mods on a smaller map i was able to pull 45-60fps with med-low settings.

If you tried to load a enormous map like italy, the game seemed to run out of memory and crash out while loading textures.

I also could not get mods to work, but that might just be me, because they arnt working on my new pc either.
