Hi all,

I have never owned a Samsung phone before in my life. I need help picking one out for my boyfriend as a gift, his current phone is old and runs so slowly. He only likes androids/samsung. I want to get him a decent Samsung for around ~$600-$700 USD. One that can run pretty smoothly, take decent pictures (as he’s a foodie and loves taking picture of his food) and will be reliable for the next 5 years or so.

    For $600, the S23 FE was just released and excels at everything you just listed. That is for the 128gb version. The 256 gb version is around $660.

    The S22 has similar pricing, but the battery life is pretty bad, unless you go plus or Ultra. The S23 FE will recieve 4 years of feature updates and one year of security updates. The S22 will get the same, but since it’s a year old, take a year off of those numbers.
