So I’m trying to backup my steam deck to do a factory reset because I can’t input my sound on something like audacity and discord, but it works on other devices. If you also encountered an issue like this please help me with a solution because it would probably be a lot easier.

What is the best backup device I can use to backup my games? I mostly just care about my games and don’t have much other stuff on my steam deck. I was thinking about watching a guide on YouTube about clonezilla. Or follow an overkill.wtf guide for rsync, but I don’t want to mess anything up and keep everything safe.

Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated.

Just fetching the home folder and backing it up on an external drive should suffice.

But you can’t go wrong making a 1:1 clone, you can mount and peruse it at any given time.

Best would be cloned drive on home server. But if u mostly have steam games just move them to pendrive formatted as steam libery or SD card. Or download them to your pc from steam deck by local network and than just do opposite.
