My carrier is currently promoting a deal for the S23 FE at 225$. I currently use a Xiaomi Mi 10 that I’ve owned for the better part of 4 years. My phone’s performance, battery life and specs still hold up very well for a 2019-2020 phone but this deal intrigued me.

After comparing the two handhelds, I couldn’t single out 1 or more aspects of the S23 FE that makes it worth using over what I have. Samsung has the worse main and selfie sensor. Battery capacity is lower. Cable and wireless charging speeds are slower. Similar build qualities. Same display resolution. Worse bezels.

8G1 is also notorious for generating more heat and having less battery backup than previous Snapdragon chips despite it being faster on paper than the 865 (Mi 10). It also has half the storage space I currently have (128 vs 256) and 4GB less of RAM. No IR blaster as well (I use it a lot for TVs and AC).

IP68 water resistance is great but it’s not a must for me (never had an issue with my current phone despite it not having an IP rating). 120Hz is also a nice bonus. The telephoto lens is something the Mi 10 does not have. Samsung has the upper hand on Xiaomi when it comes to software support too.

My current handheld also has a resale value of about 220$ on eBay.

I think I have answered my question already but I wanted to see what the community has to say on this deal.

Looking forward to reading your inputs.

After reading the reviews of the phone and looking into the specs, i have to say that it is not a good phone for the 600 or so dolans. However, for 225? I have galaxy a32, i am thinkig about buying either an iphone next year or a galaxy s24, but if i had an option to buy that phone for 225, i honestly would do that no questions asked. I don’t think you can find similar specs at that price point (correct me if i am wrong) and 4 years of updates is an amazing deal for 225.

I figured the price was right for this phone but it doesn’t blow my current phone out of the water. That’s why I’m undecided
