So i live in a country where valve dont care AKA we dont have decks on normal price ( 64gb version being sold from resellers for like 700USD ).

This week i went to Canada, and i was happy. “Man, cant wait to get myself a deck finally”. Then i had my first wall, i had to change my account county to Canada, and for that i needed to do some purchase in CAD currency.

“Oh ok, i will use my credit card that works in every phyical store” Nope. All credit cards purchase online need to match the address on my account/purchase as well the card address in my name.

I looked it up and there was another payment method “Paysafecard” which is basically a pre paid card. And since they are all sold without any address and name info. It should work.

But heres the catch, i didnt find a single place selling these cards physically even tho the damm website shows a lot of places ( i spent the whole day going at 10 different places ).

So i decided to take a risk, try to buy a pre paid visa/mastercaid gift card and use it to buy an online paysafecard. And it finnally workerd.

Now, i was able to use the card to change my country to Canada. All good. Now all i need is steam wallet balance. And for that the only way is gift cards from gamestop store.

So i go to gamestop and grab 16 50$ CAD gift cards for steam ( i checked how much there was there and they had like 50+ ). Nope, only allowed 2 gift cards per person.

At that point i just gave up and went to ebay to see if there were any oled or older models. And there was, but the oled is super overpriced and a lot of people dont even have them, they are just listing as pre order while their shipping is not done. And the ones that are ready for delivery are like 2k $ CAD.

So i was like, nah the LCD is fine, its just a screen. So i found one from a good seller and when to buy it. Nope, ebay also does not accept credit card from a different country even tho it has CAD currency and it works in ATMs and every store dowtown.

Now my only options are:

• Try to open an account to get a debit card or pre paid card with my name and canadian address.
• Buy hugely overprices decks in my country
• Buy a lot of visa / mastercard pre paid cards and use them to buy paysafecards and them use them to buy steam balance, which including the taxes from both cards + the shipling tax it will end up being almost the same price as the ones in my country or even more.

Am i dumb and there is a easy way to get one in ebay / steam using some x or y card that i am not aware or i am basically fucked with my steam account locked in canada currency for 3 months ?

A few disclaimers:

I know the easiest way is to create an account in a bank and get the card, however i am a tourist, i dont even have a SIN card, and i will not be in the country until my SIN card gets ready to then create the bank account to them buy the deck. ( thats if they allow me to get a SIN since i am a tourist )
