My steam deck had been sitting at its dock pc station being unused for a month. That was until I learned a major update dropped along with Half Life celebrating its 25-year anniversary and being free to keep for the occasion, I immediately booted my favorite gaming handheld up to get it up to date and to add the game to my decade old steam library.

I am having such a blast playing this title for the first time. I’ve been going through a retro kick lately and have been more and more appreciating the fact that its possible to play games of a by gone era.

I love going to retro titles ive not played before and putting myself through the eyes of someone who experienced it for the first time when it launched.

Its really something to play this game, Half Life, the game that led to Steam, on arguably the most pro consumer, innovative and fun console to come out in 10 years, and know that the hardware it is running on exists because of the software its running.

Valve games on the steam deck are 🤌

Same, my deck sat for a few months since I got really into playing AoE4 on my PC which doesn’t run very well on SD. The big update and news of the OLED made me pick it up and start appreciating it again.

I will definitely buy a Steam Deck 2 on launch day.
