tbh Vita homebrewed doesn’t hit as hard as PSP did when it was homebrewed. The library native sucks and its just not powerful enough to trade blows with even cheaply made emulator machines… (Anbernic RG351V and 353V come to mind, I can emulate more than than on Vita with both running Retroarch.)

While it didn’t had the same launch impact and big homebrew scene as the PSP, everything the PSP runs, so does the PS Vita, and then some.

And outside homebrew, it still has a great native library, arguably a lot of PS2 ports and remasters, but a great library nonetheless. And for the longest time, these PS2 ports were the only way to play these on a handheld device, and still the only way to play these games in such a small handheld.

Nowadays, depending on the price, it’s hard to recommend, online price is always jacked up, but if you find locally one second hand at a good price, or even have one gathering dust in a drawer, it’s worth to revisit and check the scene. And the original OLED still looks great.
