I have a Galaxy s22. I regularly check my storage and was quite surprised to see the camera app is suddenly taking up 3.5 GB of storage on my phone. This was never the case before. Idk what caused the data to spike. I tried clearing data, but it won’t clear. I’ve never had this app take up any GB only MB so I am at a loss.

Clear the appdata of the camera application, it shouldn’t take all that space. If that does not fix the data usage be sure to run the latest OS version and back up your data and then perform a factory reset. Considering however that One UI 6 will be rolled out not too in the distant future I would wait to update to that version and then factory reset your device as it is good pratice to do a factory reset after a major SW update.

Mine takes up 20.07 mb. I’d recommend resetting it and clearing the data for the app. All you would have to do is go back through and re-enable/change your preferred settings.

I noticed this issue after I moved a bunch of my photos from camera folder to another folder, which in turn causes the ‘auto update’ folder goes a bit haywire. I deleted the auto update folder in the gallery app subsequently and this camera app issue pop up.

    Have you do something similar?
