Been pulling my hair out for an hour here trying to get my Emulation stuff transferred over to my OLED.

Followed the instructions. Ran the export tool on my old deck, saved data to a USB drive. Set up Emudeck on the OLED, completed installation. Plugged the USB drive in, downloaded and ran the Import tool… click “import my saved games”, select the USB drive and…

“No saved games detected. Please select the root of the drive, dont select any of its folders.” Try Again

Well that’s what I did. I tried selecting the Emulation folder, nothing. The dialog box DOES SAY “Select a destination for the emulation directory” which sounds like it should be where I want this stuff to be which would be the SD card, where everything is. Tried that, no luck.

I try again and get a different error

“No EmuDeck save folder found. Make sure you have an EMulation/saves folder in your drive” Bye

Uh ok

Then it crashes out completely and says

“The operation failed. Your saved games might not have been exported.”

There’s definitely stuff exported to this USB drive. There’s definitely all the stuff on this SD card that was on there before. I got all the ROMs loaded up with Steam ROM Manager but no saves. EG, I open up Mother 3, I’ve got nothing.

What am I doing wrong here

I’ve got the same problem. It says it’s failing to find the directory “sdcardpath/Emudeck/saves//Emudeck/saves” so I think it might be a typo or something the script. I really don’t know.

It also probably doesn’t help that I had it backup the data to the same SD card as my roms and told it not to backup my roms. I noticed it made the EmuDeck folder there so I thought I was good but I guess not. I can’t merge it with the emulation folder either.

I was hoping at least I could get most of my stuff rolling again just by using the same SD card but it appears the symlinks on it are all broken as well so I think I got to wipe my whole card and start over.

This is a prime example of what I hate about EmuDeck. It seems like what should be simple operations like this become a massive pain in the ass and I am at a point where I just don’t want to deal with it right now.
