I’m looking to get a laptop that I can use when I travel or go to cafes to do some work, which includes watching videos online (YouTube/Netflix), multitasking between multiple tabs for productivity, and using stock trading softwares (thinkorswim/tradingview).

I prefer to use Windows OS than MacOS, but I have an iPhone. I also prefer a light laptop that is around 14” screen size. My budget is around $1600, but of course I want to pay less for great specs.

I’m mainly deciding between the MacBook Pro M2 14” and Galaxy Book Pro 3 14”, but I am also considering the MacBook Air M2 15” as seen in the picture.

From what I’ve read, the Galaxy Book Pro 3 has great display and relatively good performance, but my concerns are that it may overheat and the battery life is average (~9 hours). For the MacBook Pro, I know that its performance for productivity is greater than the Galaxy Book Pro 3 and it has excellent battery life (12 hours), but it runs on MacOS, is heavy, and it’s much more expensive (about $600 more than Book Pro 3 after taxes). For the MacBook Air, it’s light and has good specs similar to the MB Pro as seen in the picture above, but it’s a 15” screen size and doesn’t have a fan, which I don’t prefer.

Which laptop do y’all suggest I go for? Or is there any other laptop that ya’ll recommend?

you prefer WinOS - so don’t get the Apple computer. Even if you bootcamp it to WinOS, that’s still a waste of money because now you have a WinOS on an expensive piece of luxury hardware.

if you’re running stock charts, just get +32gb RAM.
absolutely no point in making disastrous financial mistakes because the computer glitched or ran out of RAM to pool your software tools.

$1350 on Lenovo will get you ThinkPad X1 Yoga 8th gen with i7-13u, 32gb RAM, 1TB, anti-glare 1200p screen (do not get anti reflection config. if you hate glossy screens) - 11h-13h of battery life. upgrade warranty later if you want to save money.

Lenovo ThinkPad warranty service is 100% better than Apple and Samsung.
