I received my OLED Steam Deck today and was bummed when I opened it and thought that I received the wrong version. I ordered the special edition 1TB but received a base black deck. The power button is the only orange accent on the device.

I saw someone else posted that they got the wrong version too, so I opened a ticket with Valve. I of course havent heard back yet, but I noticed that the screen wasnt as glossy as I thought the non special edition would have been. I booted up the steam deck and went to the storage to see that the deck has 935GB of internal storage.

So Im sure that we will see a bunch more people posting online immediately after opening their 1TB decks and seeing the plain old matte black deck stating that they got the wrong device but I bet Valve just ran out of the special edition shells and didnt notify people.

Huge bummer, as Im sure its a huge part of why a majority of people shelled out for the 1TB version. Im still gonna press Valve to make this right, but I dont know what to expect at this point.

It sounds like you got a the regular 1TB model by accident. Valve wouldn’t just replace the shell without telling people. Especially if you paid the extra $$…
