So we all know that OLED screens have a common problem: imagine retention - or “burn in”. When the screen is being still for a long time whatever appears on the screen would stay on. Would this be a problem for the Steam Deck? Since we all know we would have to leave the Steam Deck on for a long time to downloaf games because it can’t do that while being asleep like the Switch. What do you guys think?

Someone left a OLED switch on for 2 years straight on 1 screenshot, it took the switch a year to get burn in. I wouldn’t worry about it.

It’s only a problem if you leave the same static image on the screen for a very long time (multiple days straight).

Absolutely inevitable with any OLED panel - Steam Deck 2 will be out long before it becomes an issue for the vast majority of users.
