Hello. I know this has been asked on the sub a few times but I would prefer fresh insights considering any software updates and longer usage.

I’m currently using an S9 (yes I hate changing phones), so any phone I consider will be a huge upgrade.

I am a pretty heavy user, on most days I get about 6-8 hours of screen time. I don’t game. I am an average user but I do like clicking photos. Its in no way professional. I like taking pictures of the sky, scenery, food, my favorite people and plants. I do like to take pictures indoors and at night where the lighting will be less than ideal. Not a selfie person but do prefer if they come out well haha.

Why am I confused: Basically I love the look of S23+ but don’t like the fact that it doesn’t match the Ultra in RAM and camera. I myself am a petite person so I believe the ultra will be a tad too big for my hands. Plus I don’t like the sharp corners. I have never used the S pen so I don’t know if id use it much. I like the flat screen of the Plus. As for the Ultra I absolutely love the camera. The zoom is incredible and the night shots are great.

  1. Is the camera difference big enough to consider the ultra? I like everything else about the plus. to photography enthusiasts, what major camera difference do you think made you buy the ultra instead of the plus?

  2. The price difference between both devices is around 120 dollars. Would it be stupid to go for the Plus if the ultra isn’t so far off in the price?

  3. Convince me on your choice between the two :p

  4. Bonus question: if S23+ is that good, should I take the s23 instead since almost all aspects are same except battery and size?

Now before anyone mentions, no I’m not waiting for the S24. there is a rumour about it not having snapdragon in my region and I don’t want to take that risk.

As a person who used had 3 samsung 1440p phones previously, the screen downgrade to 1080p was a deal breaker. It was so noticeable to my eyes from 2 ft away. I can tolerate the camera difference but not losing half the pixels. I got fed up and have an ultra now. Everyone has different eyes so it might not matter to you. Even if you use the ultra on 1080p mode it still has double the red and blue pixels of a native 1080p s23. The screen is just that good.
