There is plenty of LCD steam on FB marketplace near me. Lots of them are under 300cad, and refurbished decks are sold out for Canada.

Anyone who has purchased used decks what is your experience?

Never bought an used steam deck but I’ve bought a bunch of other used electronics before and never had an issue. I got my laptop used 7 years ago. Still rocking.

I’m fact, I’m about to post my used steam deck up for sale, and I would totally buy it in it’s current state if I was in the market for an steam deck.

The only reason I didn’t buy my steam deck used before is because used prices were almost on par with new prices back then.

I sold mine last week and it was in great condition. Just ask if you can see a video of it working and just look it over closely when you meet up.

It’s fine as long as you’re smart about it. Try to buy local, if you can. This allows you and the seller to meet at a neutral location like a police station, where you can ensure a safe transaction for everyone, and you can actually ask to see it powered on and make sure it works.

If you have to buy used to be shipped, just ask for pictures and videos to verify the condition and see it working. If something does go wrong, these can be used to support yourself in a claim against the seller. When purchasing online always use a credit card that includes buyer protection or something like PayPal, where there’s a defined dispute process. Never use a bank account or debit card, as these are treated as cash and it’s nearly impossible to get your money back if the seller tries to scam you.
