This update has ruined my deck because it doesn’t recognize my micro SD card. Either way, I’m going to wait for a new update that I hope will fix this issue.

Honestly, that’s what I’m saying. I’m interested in the OLED version but I don’t care that much. I’d rather wait for the real upgrade whenever Steam Deck 2 comes out.

When the Steam Deck 2 comes out I’m going to give my old one to my son. It’s not worth upgrading at this point.

I think it looked a lot better with Vibrant Deck and I was able to manage screen colours for each games, so I decided to downgrade to the previous update.

I was looking at my oled vs lcd last night and the difference is surprisingly subtle in my opinion. Blacks of course are the most significant difference. But I think the additional bonus of being a bit lighter, better battery, 90hz, better click on the trackpads, etc still make the upgrade worth it for me. If I had been able to compare before ordering I may not have bothered upgrading to be honest. It’s really not as big of a deal as people make it out to be

Look, the OLED is nice, but the Steam Deck overall (LCD version) is amazing.

    Glad you like it.

Colours were always adequate on the Steam Deck with a few tweaks. This update just allows further saturation of the screen natively in the OS. It’s the ghosting and horrible contrast that makes it a trash panel in 2023. I’m glad this subreddit is willing to admit this now that an improved version is out.

Noticed that as well a day before my OLED was to arrive, the OLED still looks great but honestly if it weren’t for the shell on the LE I would have stuck with my LCD deck, it still looks great and works perfectly. And love seeing people still enjoy alpha 3!!!

Oled is fantastic and i have multiple device with oled screens (asus 120hz oled laptop, zfold 3 also 120hz ,galaxy watch 4) but not once i looked at my steam deck screen and said : Damn i wish my screen was an oled not once . The 3.5 saturation slider is a nice addition and i have mine set 2 notch past the middle .To bad they didn’t upgrade the "new’’ base model with a lcd 90hz screen .

I just pulled the trigger today on an OLED SD. The idea of having all the old 2D fighters on the go is amazing. And then I come here and see this! Man, I can’t wait. Alpha 3 is my favorite fighter of all time.
