Since the day the OLED version was announced, I have been debating with myself whether I should keep my LCD version or sell it with a considerable loss to pay for the upgrade.
Yesterday I finally managed to reimage my Deck with the latest version of SteamOS, months after the boot loader was bricked by a Windows Update. I think I am done with Windows on the Deck for now (but first I will see what Clover does).
Anyway, all this talking to say that I was quite happy to see SteamOS booting on my SD again and think that 3.5.6 may make me happy - even with the “old” LCD version. But then again, maybe I will go crazy and buy the OLED version after all. 😅
Looks like I hesitated for too long. The 512GB OLED model is sold out now (here in Japan).
Probably that means I will be “stuck” with my LCD version. I bet by the time the entry level OLED will be back in stock, the LCD version will have lost even more value.
