am looking to possibly getting one of these hand held in the near future, maybe even for black Friday. I’m currently a PC gamer. I play different kinds of games of different platforms (steam, blizzard, EA, ect). I really want a hand held to be able to sit on the couch with the wife and game it while we hangout (currently my PC is upstairs in its own office) or even play while laying in bed would be awesome. That being said, I can play while plugged in 90% of the time.

I’ve seen different reviews of the devices and I know the Go and SD Oled are new and more reviews will come with time, so im just curious if anyone here had any hands on experience with any of these devices? It seems a lot of people like the SD Oled and it could be a good fit, but I’ve watched he’d videos of people playing Nintendo games on the Rog Ally. From my understanding, the SD Oled can’t play Nintendo games on it? I mean the videos I’ve seen are people playing the new mario wonder game on the ally which would be awesome to have that ability. Then I wouldn’t really need a switch at that point. Can the Rog Ally or either if the other two devices play Nintendo, ps5, Xbox games as well?

With all of this being said, what would you guys recommend for all around functionality I know the SD has a better battery life which is cool. One thing to consider is I can always play AAA games on my PC as well. But to be able to play them handheld would be awesome!

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Both devices can olay Nintendo games, on Steam deck its easier (from my point of view) The thing is what you are really looking for Rog ally has 1080p screen and its lcd but tbh, you can change colors and it looks amazing for an lcd screen, in trully impressed, but Steam deck has the oled screen and thats way better. Steam deck oled has better battery life but less fps due to less power than the ally. The ally has the problem that the micro sd card slot (or the sd card itslef) gets burned.

Finally the Steam deck has a easier way to swap Internal ssd storage than the ally, so if you want more games and dont mind playing them at 720p, go for the Steam, i assure u that its a good purchase, but if you want power and graphics, the ally is the best choice even with a Poor battery life

I own both of them, Steam deck (lcd screen and installed 1tb ssd) and an ally and i prefer the ally because of the power to play games at 1080p native
