Setup:

  • OEM deck charger plugged into PD port on dock
  • Built-in USB cable from dock plugged into deck
  • HDMI cable running from dock to Viewsonic VA1655-FHD portable monitor
  • Samsung charging brick with USB-C plugged into monitor for power (works with everything else)
  • Monitor is recognized in desktop mode but no video is displayed on the monitor
  • Power cycling monitor doesn’t do anything except reset it and then show the “no signal” message

Troubleshooting steps/findings

  • Taking the dock out of the equation by running deck charger to USB-C on monitor, then USB-C from monitor to deck works fine. Power routes through monitor and charges the deck, too.
  • Monitor works with a different USB dock plugged into my phone with the same HDMI cable plugged into the dock and the monitor.
  • I don’t have a DP cable to test a different monitor.

Any more troubleshooting ideas? I can’t think of any other ways to reconfigure things without

Seems to be OS 3.5.5 issue. I have the same dock and it was perfectly fine before last week’s update. My display is distorted and tears all over.

Ppl are reporting issues even w the official dock and apparently this was an ongoing issue in preview. Guess we just gotta wait for an update, unfortunately.
