Just got my steam deck oled version and am planning to install baldur gate 3 but then I saw that oled screens are prone to burn in and unless you connect it to your monitor which I can’t at the moment you can’t turn the screen off. So am I at risk of burn in if I turn the brightness all the way down to download big games

    can you not tell it to turn the screen of after some time like the og units(must be plugged in though)

    It would likely take months of having the screen on at full brightness on a static image for you to get burn in. You’ll be fine…

    You’ll be fine, just dont keep the brightness up all the time. Lowering the brightness while downloading is the safest way to handle downloads.

    No, there is no risk of burn in. Wulf Den has already stated this and backed it up with testing. Tbh OLED burn in is overblown
