After 2+ hours of troubleshooting, I was finally able to install the Rockstar Games launcher in desktop mode and add the GTAV.exa as a non-steam game. I have it set to compatibility mode and I can launch it in desktop mode, but in SteamOS, when I try to run it, I get an error saying “Please Run Grand Theft Auto V using Rockstar Games Launcher”. I tried launching the Social Club launcher in SteamOS but that’s not coming up. Anyone know how to fix?

    There is no need to add GTAV.exe as non-steam game.

    How do I run GTA V (non-steam):

    1. Download Rockstar Launcher Installer
    2. Add launcher installer as non-steam game + set Proton for it
    3. Install launcher + change the folder / executable app in non-steam game properties from installer to launcher.exe
    4. Download GTA V & Launch the game from Rockstar Launcher
