So my old arrived today (yay?) I think I don’t like the change? So it be oled, yes the blacks look way better other than that, a noticeable minor change in the colours (not necessarily an improvement) I also seem no notice that alot of images actually look more graney (actually looking better on the old deck) Ive also noticed stuff being too dark in some cases, streamed AC Valhalla from my pc (as a bonus test of streaming) looks fine on pc screen, looks near the same on my LCD but on the oled I can see almost nothing.
Not sure if I’m missing something here but I may actually return it, not sure if anyone has similar opinions
For the streaming issue. Turn off hardware decoding on your Deck remote play settings.
Don’t know about the graininess. I have the etched one and everything looks crisp and amazing.
Thank you for the setting advice, just did a similar test again(streaming from old to new) and it’s made a world of difference with the brightness.
I noticed in some comparison videos that the OLED is very warm (reddish) by default. Too much so, IMO. May want to calibrate that to your liking if the colors look off to you.

I mean the Oled version is no doubt better in almost every way, not only screen. Also battery life is much better, wifi is better, bluetooth is better, ram is better, is lighter too. The thing is if you are willing to pay the difference in price. Both are great
Well not going to dispute the battery although I rarely used it in the OG so no opinion there, can’t notice much on the WiFi Bluetooth or ram but can’t test much on that. Lighter I’ll agree, although it does feel like the centre of gravity is off to the left
