So whenever I try to power on my new steam deck, the led flashes on an off and after a few seconds the fans will run and then shut off, this will keep happening until I hold the power button to power it off. What’s weird is the trackpads still have their “rumble” when I move my fingers around on them. When the steam deck is plugged in, there is a green light indicating that it is charging. It’s odd because after unboxing it, it was working perfect, I didn’t even use it much and the only modding I did to it was adding some custom boot videos, it stopped working after I plugged it in for about an hour or two.
I’ve tried a few things to fix this: Holding the power button for several different intervals, 3 seconds, 7, 10, 20 Holding the volume button while pressing or holding the power button Trying several different usb-c cables Leaving it plugged in for a long period of time
I don’t want to break it open to mess around with it because I honestly don’t know what I’m doing, and steam support hasn’t gotten back to me on my ticket, (probably because it’s a holiday) so I’m just disappointed that I’ll probably have to send it in to be fixed and will have to wait another week to be able to use it, unless anyone here has anything that might help me out.
Man the OLED seems to be having a lot of troubles. Dead pixels, not turning on, screens not working, speaks/trackpads busted… Everytime I come back to this sub it’s just more and more posts like this. Has me concerned about my order.
I heard from a friend about the many issues the og deck had when it first came out, seems like that’s just how it goes for new valve hardware, just so disappointing that me and many others are gonna have to wait longer for a usable deck :/
Ur fine, everyone is ordering at once and wants to post about the new system. For every poster having an issue I’m sure there are tons that are perfectly fine that people don’t post about.
