Received my 1TB OLED Steam Deck today but it appears I have a faulty left trackpad haptic as the left feedback is very noisy where as the right side is silent, even with the left on the lowest haptic feedback setting of 1db and the right on a max of 12db, the left is still noisy. It’s so bad I had to disable the haptic feedback. Never had this issue on the original deck.

It’s as if the left trackpad is vibrating against the shell. Even when you pull the trigger you get a noisy audible ping sound each time it triggers the left trackpad haptic, the right side is just fine and very silent. Hope Valves RMA is quick.

Dude I have the same thing on both my 1tb oled and same but to a lesser extent on my 512 oled. The left trigger pull is ridiculously annoying with what sounds like a mouse click after the haptics activate. Please update if you find a fix, I’m just going to get mine replaced I think…

Thanks for posting. I have the same thing going on with LE, was about to return. But seems like I’m not the only one having this issue. I tried adjusting the haptic force on the left touch pad, but it doesn’t really change a lot.

    I have the same issue.

In desktop mode the left trackpad feels CRAZY when used as a scroll wheel, compared to when the right track pad is used as a scroll wheel. The left trigger feels annoying to press because of the sound, but the right trigger (and trackpad) haptics feels just like my old steam deck. In the OLED issues post, it’s suggested that you can open the steamdeck and tighten the trackpad, but I have not found any guides to do this on the OLED model, which I believe has a different internal setup. Sounds like the only options is to live with it or RMA and cross your fingers :/

I tried opening mine up as some posts from way back mentioned similar problems. I did as suggested by lossening the screws a bit on the board but It didn’t really help. I definately think it’s hardware related as mine has a stronger right haptic but it also double clicks unintentionaly, the left has an annoying rattle.

I was really happy with my deck before coming across this problem and now it’s kinda put me off having it if I can’t fix it.
