Have a friend that is offering to sell me his LCD 2 tb SD (wd sn740 m.2 nvme) for $350-$400 (he hasn’t decided yet). Is that worth it over a 512 gb OLED?

Definitely not worth it over the OLED. If they bring the price down to $250 and you have sensitivity to OLED screens, then go for it.
