My OLED special edition arrived, and after 6 hours of tinkering set up I discovered 2 dead pixels. My stupid mistake for not checking prior to tinkering and trusting there would be no problems.

Why is this such an issue? Is it like impossible to hire 3 to 5 people to sit and run each deck through a simple test for this? This is my 2nd steam deck I’m having to RMA. If there’s a 3rd I’ll just refund and leave it behind. It’s honestly insane to me that in 2023 this keeps happening. If I advertised the screen being such a huge update I might actually ensure the screen is, you know, without issues. Would maybe make sense.

Think about it, Valve. I know it’s a vocal minority but it can’t be that minor if I’m seeing it everywhere on every forum.

Seems more common on the LE, now I’m thinking of returning mine ASAP when it arrives and getting the 512 standard.

I’ve seen at least one person report they got a BOE panel on their LE. Literally everything else has been Samsung. I don’t have mine, yet, to check, but I’m sincerely hoping all the LE’s aren’t BOE panels and this is what one can expect from that source.
