I currently have a z390i, core i5 9600k and 16gb of ram paired to a 2080 to, I also have a line on a core i9 9900k for 300 Canadian to my door if I choose to go that route.

My question is what would be the better choice?

Get the i9 9900k or If I wait a little I could possibly upgrade to a i7 12th gen and a ddr4 mobo for a bit more.

Just using it for a gaming and surfing internet so what would be the best choice.

I know that go with the new mobo/cpu that it will be a little bit more than getting the i9

    I just went from a 9600k to a 14600k and DDR5. Tbh, everything is cheaper (other than GPU’s) compared to the 9th gen era. 32gb of good DDR5 for around $100 bucks, $100-150 for a good MOBO or $250 for a reasonably high end Z790, and around $320 for 14600k. It just doesn’t make sense to spend any money on anything less than 13th or 14th imo.
