Hello! I’ve been doing some research and watching videos, but still torn. I’m going to buy a steam deck, but unsure on which one should I buy. Is the OLED that much better than the original one?
Yes, OLED.
I own both now, and Oled is just way better in my opinion. Screen looks beautiful (touch screen feels so much better, battery last longer, haptics feels way better for me at least, my downloads are a lot faster and many other improvements… I will be selling my LCD or either giving it as Christmas present for my little brother.
The LCD is definitely still a great device, but as others have said, I’d go OLED if I were you. It’s not a next gen update, but it’s also much more than just a screen update. If money is a factor, maybe consider trying to buy a used LCD rather than a brand new one. There are probably a decent amount of people trying to sell their LCD’s and put those funds towards purchasing an OLED.
Simply put, the OLED is worth the price difference.
