Thinking of buying a steam deck but was not sure if I need to buy steam deck versions of my existing games.

I have cyberpunk for PC. Can I just play this on a steam deck or do I need to purchase another steam deck version of it?

The Deck is a PC so it will play PC games, it use different systems than windows so it may have trouble playing some games. Check proton.db for that.

Also since its a handheld it has limited power so some games might work but will struggle with performance.

Not OP here but I have a question. In that case can I go to desktop mode, install Epic Games Launcher and just download games from there and play them? I thought they were Windows only?

Desktop Mode is basically just Linux. If a publisher doesn’t make a Linux version of a launcher, then there’s nothing to really run in that mode. There are third-party solutions (Heroic Launcher) to tackle that issue though.

There are ways to run Windows programs, but for epic games we usually use “heroic launcher” as it simplifies the process.
