I just received my OLED Steamdeck and the haptics are a lot different to my two LCD models.

One odd thing is that the left trackpad feels/sounds a lot different to the right trackpad. Higher pitched I guess.

Does anyone else have this?

I have this exact issue and have opened a support ticket. Left side as noted is awful, loud and hollow/empty… Waiting on a reply to my ticket.

I have exactly the same feeling,

    - the left one is weird, like something is rolling inside,

    - right is different

    - I have LCD too and it was different too ;)

    Probably nothing to worry about

The left side haptics feel absolutely awful on mine, and are wildly different to the right side. I have submitted a ticket about it, as well as a sticky X button and an issue with the L2 trigger not feeling right.

    I noticed something similar

Left trackpad is very clickly in its sound while the right trackpad is muted in comparison

Since i’m not sure if we’re talking about the exact same i grabbed a quick video (i turned haptic feedback to max on both trackpads)

Got another SD oled le to test. It works just fine, both touchpads have the same volume, no loud clicks. Will return the faulty one.

Yes I have the same problem. I’ve seen older posts suggesting to open it up and losen the screws on the trackpad, supposedly this fixes the problem. Having some experience building a pc and opening laptops I opened it up. I removed the battery connection then ribbon cables and lossened the screws slightly as instructed just to find the problem is still there has really bummed me out.

Either i’m not loosening them enough or it’s something else.

I’d do the same thing but I’d be so annoyed if the new one came after waiting another week (or longer) and it had the same problem or worse and i’ll just feel like i’ve wasted my time. I get the feeling there are probably a lot of units out there with the same problem it’s just people don’t notice it until they’re told. I didn’t until I played with the settings.

I’ve just done the same, after reading all the reddit threads.
My left trackpad was also making noise when I was using the touch screen keyboard.
Fingers crossed we don’t get duds again…

Same issue plus the left trackpad doesn’t “click” in the middle when in SteamOS. It does work for the internal keyboard, games etc. Submitted a ticket too, they asked me if I wanted a refund or if we want to look at this together, whatever that means XD
