I’m getting freezing while gaming. I’ve noticed a temperature spike to 100c at least twice before it froze, which is unusual because I’m custom water-cooled and it only hits that doing things like Cinebench. Typical temps are 60 and 70 under load gaming. So, I am wondering if it’s due to Asus bios or Intel or something else.

Z790 Strix

4090 Strix (not oc)

Teamgroup 7200 XMP

Ax1200i

Sn850x Raid 0

Things I’ve done so far.

Reseat block, RAM.

Memtest86 4 x pass.

Benchmark and monitor temps.

Device manager all good.

What makes it weird is I’ve run a 4-hour loop of Valley benchmark on High settings 4k… no crashes.  But I’ve tested multiple games and they’ve all crashed. I’m going to try to run everything stock including the 7200 at 5600 and see what happens.

Unless you are running an Apex Encore board, it’s pretty much pure silicon lotto to get 7000+ stable

except its not, all the aorus X boards do it, my elite X board does 7466 stable.

its 7800xmp ram so not as fast as it could but everyone with one of those boards do 7200 guaranteed.
