I have a Switch and an M1 Max. On Switch I play JRPGs, stuff like Dave the Diver, Splatoon 3, Stardew, etc. On my Mac I play FFXIV, Rollercoaster Tycoon, and sometimes will emulate something. I also own a Vita but the memory card is always corrupting so I haven’t played it in years, but I enjoyed some stuff like Utawarerumono, Freedom Wars, Dangan Ronpa, and the Nonary games on there. And I own a PS4 but I much prefer portable gaming. Last things I played on there were FFVII Remake and Persona 5.

Basically, I know I’d love gaming on a Deck. But I’m not sure if there would be anything I’d want to play that I wouldn’t be able to play elsewhere. Does anyone else already own a bunch of systems but have games they bought a Deck for? Is it worth it even if there aren’t games I’d only be able to play that way? Like, is FFXIV or Planet Coaster really enjoyable to play handheld for example?

Discuss and help me decide!

Trackpads make mouse-driven games much more managable. That said, the controls for some games will never be better than kb+m. I hook up my deck to my dock, bluetooth keyboard and wired mouse for some games.
