Morning all,
LE OLED Steam Deck arrived yesterday. Immediately set up and slap my 1TB SanDisk Ultra SD card in. I notice upon attempting to downloading a few games/updates that I was continually receiving disk write errors either when those updated reached 100% or nearly immediately after pre shader caching. Previous Steam Deck and ROG Ally have not had these issues and my SD card is working fine.
I was also able to download Remnant 2 to completion after several restarts but when launching still received the ‘disk write error’ issue. I verified integrity of game files with no issue and was still met with the error when attempting to launch.
My two courses of action now are to either reinstall Steam OS from BIOS or connect Valve for an RMA. I have heard of a couple of reports of this issue in the Steam Deck discord but none from here upon searching.
Is anyone else affected by this issue and what have you done to rectify the situation if at all?
Dismount and mount the card again in desktop mode, that’s what worked for me.
