Hi, i have an 12 year old laptop in great condition. Since i bought the new laptop, this went to dusty places of my table. How can i use it? Specs: Intel core i5-2540M 2.60 Ghz, 8 gb ddr3 1333 mhz, 232 gb ssd space, ethernet cable internet, 14’’ TN 1366x768 screen
Put Linux on it and it should be pretty usable again
Yep that’ll breathe new life into it, and the nice thing is that in addition to basic browsing functionality, you can really do almost anything that you’re willing to learn how to do. Do you develop software? Lots of options. Need spreadsheets? If you’re willing to learn libre office or some other stuff, you’ve got that too. With proton they could even play old windows games that the hardware is suited to run. Lots of great games from 2011ish.
