So I have a PS5, a gaming PC and a switch, I want a steam deck OLED but I don’t know if I really need it, and it would be helpful if anyone can give me any advantages over the switch mostly. The way I see it, I will mostly play indies which I can on the switch too. How is the steam deck justified as a purchase?

I also have a Switch but leave it docked all the time. Ultimately it’s up to you but I went for the new OLED deck because

    1. In was already interested but didn’t pick one up before
    2. It’s very attractive to me to play on games on the go
    3. I got into emulation this year and the deck is pretty much the dream to play all my PS1 and PS2 games from growing up. Plus all the others…including Switch!

You don’t need it if you already have a pc but I was in the same position as you except an Xbox instead of ps5 and I absolutely love my steam deck.

I have all of the above and the deck refreshed my love for gaming. If you can afford it, get it.

Between the Switch Lite, Switch, and OLED Switch the Stream Deck is the best Switch on the market.

The SteamDeck was made for adult hands . I can’t use the switch for very long without cursing the size. (I’m very average, nobody has ever told me I have big hands.)

The selection of games is wider. (I can’t say if it’s “better” or not, but with more games, you get more trash. But you also get some gems you would never find on the Switch.)

You can play lots of games that are not on Steam: Many games from the Epic store, GoG, etc.

You can get Cheap games (Humble Bundle, etc).

Frankly, I find the SteamDeck UI less confusing.
