Common bro tho BOE panel is not so bad that you have to lock it up in a cage!

Thanks for this tip! I’ve got my new companion coming on Monday and I might have had to break up some fights if I hadn’t seen this!

It’ll take about six months before they get used to each other, just make sure to keep them plugged at different ends to prevent sudden aggression.

The fact that you were able to power both on simultaneously and close one of them in the crate in time for the load screen picture is impressive😂

make sure you do intros in a neutral space! reduces the risk of territorial aggression. take them to a park or on a walk to make sure they get along best!!

Make sure the new one doesn’t develop resource guarding, you are its most important resource and it may fight the other one if the time is not equally divided

Also, a managed switch, separate docks, and individual (not swap-shared) ethernet cables. Got it. Yeah, I really want them to get along. The OG is 30g heavier and I fear it could really do a number on the LE if they fight.

        Good call brother, good call.

Here’s a quick funny story for you

I am actually a professional Dog Trainer for the last 17 years and one of my clients that came today told me that his OLED steam deck was delivered yesterday and his wife brought it in the house and put it on the living room table his 130 pound mastiff named gabe (the dog was a rescue and came with that name, yes I lock so hard. I almost puked) totally destroyed the box, the steamed carry in case, and in the process of chewing the carrying case shattered his screen

Now everybody in this sub can feel bad for him as I did but then also laugh at him as hard as I did. I never thought in 1 million years I would have somebody standing in front of me telling me that their dog Gabe destroyed a valve product hahaha

That is…kind of wacky haha (esp that the dog is named Gabe, any chance their last name is Newell? Nah, that’d be cosmically improbable)
He should’ve done a soft intro between his dog and steam deck!

Definitely one of the most creative posts I’ve seen on the steam deck subreddit. A far cry from the repetitive “is anyone else spam refreshing their OLED Deck delivery?” posts.
