I want to say this is not meant to be a bashful post. The steam deck truly is a great little device.

Given my situation I’m a little remorseful of the purchase. I thought it would be a nice way to spice up my gaming life and get me away from the computer desk to enjoy my games. Problem is 90% of the time the only games I like to play are fps. I’m not into anime, medieval, fantasy, or retro games and I think that’s were a large part of the problem lies. While there are some fps that run good, most of the top games don’t, and playing fps on the device (in general) isn’t that great. You need to be able to see what’s going on at moderate distances from you but the screen is just too small to do that (and my Vision sucks).

Another thing for me was it was honestly a bit of an impulse buy and I’m kinda punching myself for not putting that money in my IRA like I intended. I’ve also got a gaming pc that works just fine, if I was itching for something to make gaming more exciting I could have spend a fraction of the cost upgrading pc components.

So yeah I’m a little remorseful, still on the fence about returning it. It is my fault and I’m not blaming the device itself. That all said just curious if anyone else is feeling the same or am I being irrational? Whatever the case may be I’ll likely continue to play for a few days and then make up my mind.
